The idea of teaching yourself to ski using your telephone may seem crazy at first sight. But, now, with the modern technology, it really is possible! Thanks to the portability of the iPhone and Android smart phones you can now bring your instruction out on the slopes with you so you can watch the instruction and then immediately practice it.
Video Clip: How to use the Apps
The Ski Tips Apps series was designed to help everyone improve their skiing, whether they are first time novices or "powder hounds" wanting to learn how to ski difficult snow conditions. Starting with the fundamentals, such as walking on skis, each step builds upon the previous steps so that you confidently and quickly move on to more and more advanced ski manoeuvres. While the exercises and ski manoeuvres presented are the same ones you should find in any good ski school, what makes Ski Tips unique & successful is the way it simplifies the learning process and its focus on establishing absolutely solid core skills. All the instructional Apps have been designed so that they can be used as both a self teaching aide and as a supplement to ski lessons. If you are having lessons, I recommend that you watch the App before your lessons & then use the App afterwards to practice what you were taught during your lessons. The App also works very well when used with a friend to help correct each others faults.
There are currently four SkiTips Apps: SkiTips for 1st Timers, SkiTips1 for Beginners and Intermediates, SkiTips2 for Intermediates and Advanced skiers & SkiTips3 for skiers wanting to learn how to ski powder & ‘off-piste’ snow. Each App contains 20 to 30 individual lessons presented in Video, audio and text format.
And if you want to try out the SkiTips experience for free, check out our SkiTips Lite App - a free download that presents extracts from all four of the SkiTips Apps series.
