A useful exercise is to practice making a powder turn in 2 or 3 separate movements – part one, turning your skis just to the fall-line and parts two & three, turning them uphill and then turning them to a stop. Practice this on a gentle slope in shallow powder. Another useful exercise is to link a series of powder turns, slowing up and almost stopping at the end of each turn.
