Modified Avalement

On whiteout days when it is difficult seeing or when skiing powder that covers moguls, you can use avalement (absorption) to ski in control as you ski more by feel, sensitizing your feet, ankles, knees and hips to absorb and turn over the hidden bumps. You can also ski ëmodified avalementí to make smooth turns in deep obstacle-free powder, using your stomach muscles to pull your knees up toward your chest.
