Mountain Organization

Tracks are cut into hills & mountains to create ski runs. In the US and Canada these are called ‘ski trails’. In Europe, they are called ‘pistes’. Runs are cut for all levels of skier; fairly flat runs for the beginners, medium steep runs for the intermediates and very steep runs for the expert skiers. These runs are maintained by the resort personnel so they are safe to ski. In Europe they are marked with poles to define the boundaries.
