Ski Lifts

The most common uphill transports are ‘chair lifts’ that you sit on with your skis attached. The best of these are ‘detachable’ chairs that slow down when you get on them and slow down again when you get off. The bigger resorts often also have gondolas and tramways where you carry your skis and either sit or stand inside. Some resorts have ‘trains’ that run on a track or surface lifts, such as ‘Poma’ lifts or ‘Tee- bars’ that pull you up the slope on your skis.
