The Wedge or Snowplow

The Wedge, which is also referred to as a snowplow, is a good means of slowing down or stopping when skiing on a gentle hill at slow speeds. The key to the wedge is to be in a good basic body position with the skis in a ‘V’. Keep your shins leaning against the tongues of your skiboots. When you want to stop, lower your hips, roll your feet and ankles more on to their inner edges and push your heels out to the sides.
