Whether you planned your ski vacation far in advance or intend to do it at the last moment it would be useful to know the weather that is forecast for the ski resort you are heading to...
* If fresh snow is expected you may plan on booking some powder lessons and bringing along or renting wide - body powder skis.
* If blizzards, cold weather and wind are expected you can pack extra clothing and face masks.
You also may want to leave extra time for the drive to the resort.
* If conditions look like they will be icy you should get your edges sharpened before leaving or upon arrival at the resort.
* If conditions look to be fantastic - clear, calm and sunny you can allow yourself to get excited in anticipation. If conditions don’t look to be too good, at least you will be prepared so that you won’t be disappointed when you arrive.
* If you are able to alter your plans at the last minute, knowing the forecasted weather can help you choose which resort to go to.
* Following are some sites that I find very good weather forecasters for ski areas in the USA and in many parts of the world.
